It’s been a month!!
Since I've been at home, isolated in my room, on the couch, and at my workstation. I had been working out daily for the last three years, and suddenly, a bad fall left me unable to even step out of my bed. One of the reasons a knee injury is quite bad is that the knee bears the entire load of your body, and most activities require you to stand and do things. However, I'm not supposed to do that. So it has been quite hectic, and honestly, staying at home sucks.
Not being able to go out for a coffee, go on dates, or meet new people. Ah, I do miss all that. But I feel like now I've had the time to think and ponder over it. And just today, I had a realization that made me move and shake my body a bit, lol.
Earlier today, while I was making my coffee, I was thinking about getting an automatic machine (maybe the Breville Express). I was watching a few videos and then stumbled upon Zac Efron's ACL full-tear recovery. In the video and while reading more about it, I found out it can take up to 5 months to fully get back to activities. And I thought to myself, I don't think I should just lay still and do nothing until then. I noticed that in this one month, lethargy had kicked in, and I was postponing even doing little stretches. That meant I needed to just adapt.
I googled workouts that you can do when you have a knee injury, and it turns out you can. There are multiple exercises that can help keep you active, without even bothering the knee. It just needs improvisation. And I feel so good. I did multiple upper body exercises, and now I'm a little sore from them, and I love it. THE DOMS! I think I got the initial nudge and now it’s time to make a schedule and a planner for things that I can do without affecting the knee. I'll share it in my next update.
What’s on my mind
Sitting at home, I have been able to appreciate my friends the most. In the past month, I've had delightful conversations with them, shared laughter over the most random things, and watched back-to-back movies because why not? I love that I have friends who keep visiting and checking up. You really realize the value of good friendships in situations like this.
Apart from this, this week was quite fun. I watched a couple of well-made films. If you haven't seen "Nimona," do watch it. It's by Annapurna Productions :)
I watched the IND vs. PAK match with friends. Even non-cricket fans participated, and everyone was hooked until the end.
Tried out tribal coffee, it’s a small popup-up van that opened up recently and honestly love their branding and coffee.
I learned about the art and craft of watchmaking. One of my friends is a watch enthusiast, and I got a nice glimpse into how automatic watches work and the beauty of the engineering and design behind them. Here's the story of how Patek Philippe Ref 3940 saved the industry when the Quartz crisis hit.
And from the learning photography journey, I just borrowed a camera from my friends and here are some random shots I took.
Until next time\o/
